GIBSON LES PAUL TRADITIONAL REVIEW
Electric Guitar by 'Gibson'
A bit more features for the price asked is what most musicians would like to see from Gibson's Les Paul Traditional. Wether it's the quality of craftsmanship, or the price, musicians don't seem to like what Gibson offered with Les Paul Traditional.
Mahogany, non-chambered weight-relieved wood body
Set-in neck joint with Mahogany neck wood and '50s rounded neck shape
Rosewood fretboard with 12" radius
22 frets
pickups: '57 classic plus humbucker bridge with '57 classic humbucker neck
2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way pickup selector controls
Tonepros kluson-style tuners
Chrome color hardware
Some say that the average is golden, and maybe that is true for Gibson's Les Paul Traditional as well. There are musicians who would like to see more features on Les Paul Traditional, but Gibson felt that Les Paul Traditional provides enough features for a given price and the market that Gibson shoots for. Perhaps there are better equipped guitars then this one, but Les Paul Traditional will deliver for what it's built for.
You could find a better fitted guitar, but Les Paul Traditional is ready to be played by any musician willing to take time and adjust it to his/her needs. Gibson built a guitar that has nice finish but it lack something that would make it feel even better. Guitar stays in tune reasonably well, if you don't force it too much, and the Les Paul Traditional's neck is playable.
Some might say that Gibson didn't go all the way in providing a reliable and durable instrument, but Les Paul Traditional isn't that bad. It will serve you well most of times, though you should be wary and have backups in situations where you feel Les Paul Traditional might let you down, such as gigs and studio sessions.
