I considered purchasing some of the other Gibson Les Paul models but one look at this guitar and I had to have her! The action is incredible, and the sound of the guitar even without amplification is very impressive, the lack of a lacquer or urethane finish let the warm sound of the wood resonate without impairment, and the sustain seems like it goes on forever. The Humbucker pickups give the instrument that fat tone which Gibson is famous for.
The price was right too, out the door including a nice Gibson hard shell case for under $975.
The only negative in my opinion would be that the ends of the frets are a little rough, there is not any binding to cover the fret ends, they could use more polishing, easily resolved by a capable luthier
It is not a light weight guitar, even with the chambered body, but that's typical of the Les Paul.
If you are looking for a Les Paul from Gibson and money is an issue you can't go wrong with this guitar, the same goes for anyone that can afford a higher price tag! I highly recommend this guitar, I am very happy she's mine ;o)
