Gibson Custom ES-330 Review

ES Series Electric Guitar by 'Gibson Custom'

Share this:
ES-330 is a fully hollow-bodied ES model from Gibson`s Custom department and it brings all the sound and looks of the 1950`s ES guitars. The body is in it`s entirety made of maple and poplar combination, which brings a lightweight and playfully sounding guitar. The top is carved and bound with creme binding. Two "f" holes can be found on the top, one at the each side of the bridge. The raised black pickguard with white edges adds up to the overall elegance of the guitar. Vintage burst, vintage natural and vintage cherry are the color options available for this model. The bridge is made of a tune-o-matic with a trapezoid tailpiece. The bridge and the rest of the hardware is nickel plated. The pickups are two underwound P-90 single coils with dog ear casings. They are controlled through split volume and tone controls with a three-way toggle pickup switch. The neck is made of mahogany with a maple spine and is attached to the body via the mortise & tenon joint. The fingerboard is made of hand-piked dark rosewood and features 22 frets, dot inlays and 1.6875" wide vintage-styled nylon string nut. The fingerboard radius is 12" and the scale measures 24-3/4" in length. TonePros Kluson tuning machines and nickel hardware complete the spec for this model. The MSRP for ES-330 is set at $4,704 for vintage burst, $5,292 for vintage natural and $5,292 for vintage cherry.
