Gibson Custom Ace Frehley Budokan Les Paul Custom (Gibson Custom) Review

Ace Frehley Budokan Les Paul Custom is a model released in honor of the KISS`s Space Man solo guitarist, Ace Frehley and his guitar from the concert at Budokan in 1976. It is a Les Paul Custom model with historically accurate appointments to match the original from the 1970s. Ace Frehley Budokan Les Paul Custom is a solid bodied single cutaway electric guitar with a body made of four pieces of mahogany and maple and a three-piece carved flamed maple top. The body is bound in seven layers of white and black binding around the top and five layers around the bottom. This model is available in heritage cherry sunburst with nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The bridge on this model is a combination of a tune-o-matic and a stoptail bar, a duo that is associated with Les Paul models ever since the beginning. The bridge is, as is all other hardware, plated in chrome. The pickup department on this beauty is made up of three pickups. There is a DiMarzio open coil PAF styled Super Distortion humbucker in bridge, open coil PAF styled DiMarzio humbucker in the middle and open coil PAF styled DiMarzio humbucker in the neck. They are controlled through a standard set of Les Paul pots, two volume and two tone controls. The pickup switch is a slightly modified three-way toggle. The neck on Ace Frehley Budokan Les Paul is made of three pieces of mahogany and features fast & slim contour and traditional mortise & tenon joint. It also has the same binding as the body. The fingerboard is made of ebony, and equipped with 22 jumbo sized frets with mother-of-pearl block inlays. String nut is made of bone and has 1.69" in width. The fingerboard radius measures at 12" and the scale length is standard 24-3/4 inches. White pickguard, chrome hardware, Grover tuners with 12:1 ratio wrap the spec up.
