Fender 2012 Limited Collection Heavy Relic Jazzmaster Review

Fender`s Custom Shop has launched a special run of models named 2012 Limited Collection. There are five exquisite models of which one is Heavy Relic Jazzmaster model. It is a model which pays tribute to some of the most successful Jazzmaster models throughout the history. This 2012 Limited Collection Heavy Relic Jazzmaster starts off with a solid double cutaway body made of hand-selected alder with a flat top. It is available only in heavily worn sonic blue color option with nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Upon the flat top worn white plastic pickguard is placed. There are no bindings around the top. The bridge on this model is fender`s vintage style tremolo with tremolo locking button. the bridge is plated in chrome. Pickups on this Relic Jazzmaster are two P-90s placed one in the bridge and one in the neck position. They are controlled through separate volume and tone controls. Pickup switch is a three-way toggle. The neck on this model is made of quartersawn maple and sports an early '60s contour with bolt-on joint. Neck is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. The fingerboard is made of rosewod and it features 21 6105 sized frets, dot position inlays, 1.65" wide micarta nut and 9.50" radius. The scale on this Jazzmaster is standard 25-1/2". This worn-out vintage beauty was featured on Fender exhibition at NAMM 2012 in Anaheim, Ca. The MSRP for 2012 Limited Collection Heavy Relic Jazzmaster is set at $7,000.00.
