Following review text is verbal representation of numerical rating information:

Not a very good choice, ESP didn't hit the target with LTD EC. A lots of features missing or not done the way most musicians would like, and the price is not attracting people to buy this guitar either.

A lot of people would like to see more features in ESP's LTD EC as is on a lower level features-wise, when compared to other guitars. Some musicians are disappointed with features that LTD EC provides, but not everybody feels that way. Overall feeling is that ESP could have thrown in a bit more in this guitar and made it more versatile.

There are, definitely, better sounding guitars then ESP's LTD EC, but this guitar stands up to the instruments in its category when it comes to tone it delivers. It needs to be fiddled with to make it sound right, you don't get the tone that's larger than life right away, but it will play and sound OK the way it is. ESP could have gone a bit further and could have made it sound richer, as it doesn't sound as cool as one feels it should.

You could find a better fitted guitar, but LTD EC is ready to be played by any musician willing to take time and adjust it to his/her needs. ESP built a guitar that has nice finish but it lacks something that would make it feel even better. Guitar stays in tune reasonably well, if you don't force it too much, and the LTD EC's neck is playable.

If you're happy with ESP's LTD EC overall performance and characteristics, you can consider it to be a replacement guitar for your gigs. Even if used as only guitar LTD EC will perform, but don't overrate it and always try and find a backup. It is a solid guitar that will last long and perform well if you treat it right.
