ESP GUS G. REVIEW
Electric Guitar by 'ESP'
ESP's Gus G. is fairly good guitar. Not a brilliant one, but Gus G. will serve you until you decide it's time to go for a bit more expensive guitar. You will not go wrong if you go ahead with Gus G..
Alder w/ flamed maple top body
Maple / rosewood neck / fretboard
Thin u neck shape
22 xj frets
Black nickel hardware
Gotoh tuners
pickups: Seymour duncan distortion (b) / '59 (n)
Some say that the average is golden, and maybe that is true for ESP's Gus G. as well. There are musicians who would like to see more features on Gus G., but ESP felt that Gus G. provides enough features for a given price and the market that ESP shoots for. Perhaps there are better equipped guitars then this one, but Gus G. will deliver for what it's built for.
You can plug this baby into a toaster and, God knows, maybe it would sound as great as it does with any other amp. Seriously, ESP made a Gus G., a terrific sounding instrument that deserves all the praise it can get. There is simply no need to change anything stock-provided parts built into this axe, as it sounds professional all the way. ESP's Gus G. is a over the top sounding instrument.
Though it could be better, action of ESP's Gus G. is not that bad at all. It may lose tuning when mistreated, but it's easily retuned in tune in no time. You won't be put down while playing by Gus G.'s neck. Guitar does feel a bit cheaper, but it will last you a long time if you handle it with care each instrument should be getting anyhow.
Some might say that ESP didn't go all the way in providing a reliable and durable instrument, but Gus G. isn't that bad. It will serve you well most of times, though you should be wary and have backups in situations where you feel Gus G. might let you down, such as gigs and studio sessions.
