Black Gold ML is a good guitar. Slight disproportions in price vs. quality/features should never stop you from trying this guitar. Dean did put a lot of effort into this instrument and it deserves to be tested. If you find that it suits your playing style, go for it - you won't be sorry.

Some say that the average is golden, and maybe that is true for Dean's Black Gold ML as well. There are musicians who would like to see more features on Black Gold ML, but Dean felt that Black Gold ML provides enough features for a given price and the market that Dean aims for. Perhaps there are better equipped guitars then this one, but Black Gold ML will deliver what it's built for.

Tone delivered by Dean's Black Gold ML makes it a serious sounding instrument that gives Dean a lot of reasons to be proud of it. Somewhat limited when playing certain music styles doesn't mean that Black Gold ML will make your tone to sound poor, quite the opposite, because Black Gold ML provides rich and versatile tone that you'll be happy with.

Another reliable model from Dean brings us to a guitar that handles well and plays well. Finish doesn't feel bad at all, and the hardware is good. It stays in tune for most of the time, so if you take the time to adjust the action & pickups the way you want them, you will feel comfortable while playing Black Gold ML.

Some might say that Dean didn't go all the way in providing a reliable and durable instrument, but Black Gold ML isn't that bad. It will serve you well most of times, though you should be wary and have backups in situations where you feel Black Gold ML might let you down, such as gigs and studio sessions.
