Sonus TJ 5 is one of many models in the famous Sonus series made by Zon. This series is made up of several smaller lines of electric basses, which all have their own positions and tasks on the market. TJ models are among the most prestigious fretless basses around and their line consists of only two models, TJ 5 and TJ 6. TJ 5 is a solid and double-cut bass made of alder back and quilted maple top. Zon makes this one in Natural color scheme with glossy finish and golden hardware. On the top of the body, Zon installs a pair of single-coil pickups with an elaborate unit of control knobs and switches. Also, there is a five-saddled hardtail bridge. Fretless phenolic fingerboard completes the specs list.

I have a Zon TJ5 Fretless. The specification information here at Chorder is not completely correct. The nut width of the TJ5 is 1.875". The pickups are double-coils. The controls are variable depending on order. I have master vol., balance, three band eq with a mid-frequency selector switch which offers three positions. My body-woods are mahogany core with a maple top. This instrument is very fine. It's construction is fantastic. No negative issues at all. The sounds are variable depending on a player's desires. It can be sweet or agressive, sound very fretless or almost as tight as a fretted bass. The folks at Zon truly care about their creations and are successful at providing a high-quality, very musical instrument for your creativity. I highly recommend Zon basses.
