Ovangkol was, and still is, one of the most important tonewoods in the Warwick catalog. This wood comes from Africa and it is pretty much considered an exclusive tonewood. It is a common thing in Warwick catalog, while it`s pretty scarcely used by other brands (mostly as decoration on exclusive acoustics). Besides the neck, Warwicks made in Germany can sometimes feature ovangkol bodies. Thumb Bolt On Broadneck was one such model. It had the all-ovangkol body in combination with an ovangkol neck. This combo, in cooperation with a pair of super string single-coils, gave a huge, massive tone, able to cut through any mix. Warwick two-piece bridge and a tuners were also featured on this model. 24-fret fingerboard made of wenge wrapped up the specs list.
