Vintage Modified is one of the most important series in Squier catalog and also, one of the most populous. For the summer of 2012 it is updated with a pair of Telecaster basses, which are based on the legendary Telecaster Basses from the '60s and '70s. Vintage Modified Telecaster Bass is a solid-bodied instrument with single cutaway and bolted neck joint. It`s body is made of basswood, and traditionally does not feature top wood covers or body binding. But, the vintage-styled pickguard is right there on top, shielding the electronics department. Bridge section is in tune with the revered bridges of the yesteryear Telecaster Bass models, as it features hardtail construction and has only two saddles to support four strings. Pickups department is equipped with one single coil pickup, the Duncan Designed PB-102 pickup. It is quite rare to see electric guitar or bass with one single coil pickup equipped with a pickup switch. This single coil features a three-position blade switch installed next to the master volume and tone knobs. Position 1 delivers baritone setting, while the second is reserved for the modern tone. Third one emulates the double bass setting. Neck on this model is made of maple and it features C contour in the back. Fingerboard is also made of maple. It contains 20 medium jumbo frets, black dot inlays, 9.50" radius and 1.72" wide string nut. 32" scale, chrome plated hardware and glossy finish complete the specs list for this model.
