Vintage Modified series is one of the most important lines in Squier Guitars catalog. As a subsidiary brand of Fender Guitars, Squier is in charge of the budget-friendly models and series, similar to Epiphone/Gibson relationship. Squier`s limitations as a sub-brand reduce the catalog to models below the Fender`s price range, while still giving them high level of quality of build and tone. For 2013, Squier updates the Vintage Modified series with a multitude of new models and Vintage Modified Jazz Bass is one of them. This new Jazz Bass improves on the former one and remains in within the series standard price range. It costs $479.99. This new four-stringed Vintage Modified Jazz Bass features the solid, vintage-styled basswood body and the classic C-shaped maple neck. On it`s top, there`s a vintage-styled bridge with four adjustable saddles. In it`s front, Squier installs two Fender-designed single-coil pickups with standard controls included. Tortoise shell pickguard adds to the vintage looks. Maple neck is traditionally bolted to the body and it is topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. Vintage tuning machines, 34" scale and polyester gloss finish wrap up the specs list.
