Mikey Way of My Chemical Romance is another newcomer to Squier`s artist series, and he comes with a short-scaled Mustang Bass. This model was, along with other Squier novelties, uncovered at the NAMM Show earlier this year. Mikey Way Mustang comes with a classic double cutaway body made of basswood. The body features a flat top with no binding around it. Binding is omitted due to the silver sparkle color with stripes which was chosen as the only one for this model. The pickguard is black and has a classic shape. The bridge is fixed, has six saddles, string-through construction and chrome plating. Pickup department features only one pickup, the middle position humbucker. The pickup is passive, even though it features a cover similar to those active humbuckers sport. Controls layout is fairly simple and includes master volume and master tone. The neck is a standard Fender/Squier feature as it is made of maple with C contour and four bolt joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and sports 19 medium jumbo frets with dot position inlays, 1.50" wide string nut and 9.50" radius. 30" scale and chrome plated hardware wrap up the specs for Mikey Way Mustang. The MSRP is set at $499.99.
