Stingray models are representatives of the classic Music Man design, tone and construction and together with Sterling series, they represent the traditional section of the Music Man catalog. Models of this acclaimed series have had a very important role in shaping the modern rock, blues and metal music almost as equally as the legendary Precision Bass, Jazz Bass, Rickenbacker 4001 and Gibson Thunderbird. Current Stingray models have a tough job of carrying the Stingray banner on to younger generations and Stingray 5 HH is one of the best instruments for this task. Solid and double-cut hardwood body with flat top and bolted neck, 34" scale, vintage tuners on the headstock, two full-sized humbuckers, five-saddled bridge with chrome plating, maple-made neck and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard are featured on this model.

I have Musicman Stingray 5HH in Honey Burst with a white 3-ply pickguard and a grainy Maple neck and Maple fingerboard. The action on this bass is reasonably low and intonation is very good, the Schaller tuners keeps it in tune very well. The playability of this bass is more or less fantastic, noticable when playing chords and very noticable when slapping, has a rich sizzling sound to the bass.Another thing about this instrument is that you have a load of tonal options from that Musicman classical bridge pick up sound to that neck, warm, P bass-like andjazz tone that comes from this bass, it just covers aĺl genres I would say.I found this bass to be fantastic when in a studiio setting and when gigged, has a great low B end sound and when using the 5-way selector lever you can hear the brightness of each mode even treble is set at a reasonable level. The body contour of the bass has a modern appeal to it and feels comfortable and the neck is smooth running up the fingerboard. I am please with this bass, it is a definate keeper I would say!
