Jackson JS3 Kelly Bird IV Review

JS3 Kelly Bird IV is a product of Jackson`s joint efforts with their long-time endorser, David Ellefson of Megadeth. It is introduced together with JS2 Kelly Bird IV and this dynamic duo is taking on the budget-friendly section of the market. For the price tags these two sport (both are under $600) they represent fantastic investments. Especially this one, the JS Kelly3 Bird IV. It comes with a single cutaway Kelly-shaped body. Solid and made of basswood with flamed maple top, this one is focused on the population of players who are forced to calculate with the tight budget, but still want their four-stringer to look decent. Transparent Blue Burst is the only color option, it`s finished in gloss. Jackson humbuckers are installed in the pickups area. Besides the master volume and pickup pan knob, this Kelly features a set of three knobs, which represent a three-band equalizer. Neck on this model is the same as on the Kelly2 bass, it`s made of rock maple and topped with a standard installment of a rosewood fingerboard. 21 jumbo frets, block inlays, compound 12-16" radius and 1-5/8" wide string nut are featured on the fingerboard.
