Multi-scale guitars and basses are becoming increasingly popular, mostly among metal players. Ibanez is one on a long list of manufacturers which embraced the new trends and started introducing regular production models with compound scales. 2018 lineup (introduced at the annual NAMM Show) contains three multi-scale bass models, all three members of the SR wing of the Ibanez Bass Workshop. SRMS805 is the five-stringed version. It comes in Brown Topaz Burst and Deep Twilight (both with black hardware, black hardware, matching headstocks). Main construction features include a solid SR body (mahogany base, poplar burl top), a 5-piece jatoba/walnut neck, a 24-fret panga panga fingerboard (34"-35.5" scale, acrylic stripe inlays, 1.77" nut), a 5-saddled Monorail bridge, slanted Bartolini pickups, and die-cast tuners.
