Fretless basses have been around for decades and have become an integral part of every major brand`s lineup (as opposed to fretless guitars which never really caught on). Ibanez has a sizable range of fretless basses, mostly found in Bass Workshop and SR ranges. SRF706 is a 2017 model, a member of the Workshop lineup and a standard-level SR bass. It starts off with a solid, double-cut body with mahogany wings. The neck (which runs through the center of the body) is made of five pieces of maple and bubinga (with SRF6 profile in the back), while the rosewood fingerboard on its top has 30-fret reach (though it is actually a fretless one). AeroSilk piezo system, Bartolini MK-1 soapbar pickups and die-cast tuners complete this workhorse.
