Standard part of the SR series, commonly and officially known as just SR, is probably the most popular line of electric basses today. It was formed more than 25 years ago in an attempt to create a modern bass guitar for modern music and modern musicians. It quickly turned out to be one of the best moves Ibanez has ever made, becoming something like the RG series of the bass world. At 2016 NAMM, a multitude of standard SR models has been introduced and the revitalized SR500 joins the series` middle ranks.
SR500 is a solid-bodied four-stringer with a carved top, bolt-on neck construction, standard 34" scale and passive electronics. Its double-cut and gorgeously sculpted body is made of mahogany and comes in two versions - Brown Mahogany and Tri-Fade Burst Flat. Five-piece jatoba/bubinga neck with the standard SR4 profile in the back and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top completes the chassis of this four-stringed warrior.
Electronics unit features the tested and proven components - a pair of Bartolini`s MK-1 soapbars and a three-band EQ with mid frequency selector. Accu-cast bridge and die-cast tuners, hardware section`s main members, keep the instrument in tune with flawless precision.
