Bass guitars have, in recent years, started expanding into six and even seven-string regions following the advancements in the electric guitar field. Thus it is not at all uncommon to see a nine-string guitar and a six-string bass within a standard, affordable series lineup. Ibanez is, of course one of the pioneers and leaders among the brands which have embraced the extended range instruments. SR306EB is the most recent (introduced at 2016 NAMM) six-string bass in Ibanez catalog. It belongs to the basic 300 tier of the super popular SR series. SR306EB is a six-stringed bass with bolt-on construction, super sleek design with deep cutaway and wonderful body/neck weight balance. The body of this beast is entirely made of mahogany, while the neck is made of maple and rosewood. Five-piece neck rocks the six-string version of the fast and sleek SR profile in the back, and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. 2.12" nut, 15.75" radius and dot inlays. PowerSpan humbuckers provide enough variety and options for even the most demanding players out there. They come with an extended controls unit (3-band EQ, mid-frequency switch, volume, balance) which has become a standard among the standard SR models. Stellar Accu-Cast B126 hardtail bridge and die-cast tuners effortlessly keep all six strings in perfect tune.
