Ibanez SR256 Review

SR series of basses offers the very basic SR electric bass guitars. SR Premium and Prestige are in charge of advanced variants of models found in this sub-division. For the summer 2012 Ibanez updates the SR with SR256, a brand new six-string bass guitar made for players who want to get a feel for the extended bass range, but are not ready to pay big bucks. SR256 offers a basic set of features and appointments in an affordable package. It kicks off with a modern, double cutaway body made of mahogany, which is equipped with a bolt-on joint construction. There are no bindings, top wood covers or pickguards installed on this model. Bridge for this six-stringer is Ibanez B16 painted black to match the rest of the hardware and the overall black/white theme. Pickups are configured in H/H layout. They are active and controlled through master volume, master tone and set of three equalizer knobs, one to boost and cut bass, one for mids and one for treble. Neck on this model is made of three pieces of maple and it is topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 24 medium frets, dot inlays, 15-3/4" radius and 2.12" wide string nut complete the specs list for this model.
