SR, or the Sound Gear, is the most prominent and most popular series of electric basses made by Ibanez. Over the course of years and decades, it has diversified into several sub-series, divided mainly by the sections of the market they target. SR Prestige is the top series and is in charge of the luxurious four, five and six-stringers. Beneath it is the SR Premium and the standard SR line deals with intermediate and lower intermediate models. SR1800E is a brand new model, introduced for 2014. It comes with a solid and double-cut body, bolted neck, passive electronics and a 24-fret fingerboard. Body is made of ash base, walnut middle layer and combined rosewood/flamed maple top. On the top, Ibanez installs the standard four-saddled mono rail bridge with gold plating. Nordstrand`s passive fat single-coil pickups are featured in the front. Master volume, balance knob, three-pot equalizer, frequency mini switch and the equalizer on/off switch are featured in the controls unit. Five-piece wenge/bubinga neck is topped with a series standard 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood.
