Peter Iwers and In Flames are among the originators of the heavy and melodic Gothenburg death metal scene .Today, over twenty years later, this is one of the dominant styles on the metal scene, heavy enough to meet the highest heaviness criteria, yet melodic enough to draw in the melody-oriented listeners. Peter Iwers and his bass work have given a huge contribution to the formation of what we now know as melodic death metal. Over the course of years, Peter and Ibanez have collaborated twice, namely on PIB1 and PIB2 models. For the 2014 NAMM Show, they team up again to bring forth the brand new PIB3 model. It is a solid and double-cut bass made of mahogany. It`s oval edges and carved top give it a note of elegance. Glossy red paint against the black hardware hits the bulls eye. Electronics section is passive and features a pair of CAP EXF-N2 pickups in it`s lineup. Volume, balance knob and three band equalizer comprise the controls. Maple and rosewood neck is made of five pieces of wood and is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. Medium-sized frets, 1.77" string nut and custom 12th fret inlay complete the specs list.
