I've had this bass about two years now. I've been playing bass since 1977 and specialize in jazz. I was looking at a Roscoe six string and a Tobias six string. The ibanez is a far better bass than the Tobias ( and at a lower price ), and very comparable to the Roscoe. This bass is very well put together, with excellent woods. The neck through body construction with dual truss rods is superb. The Bartolini designed pickups are very quiet, with excellent tonal flexability. My only dislikes, are the lock/release cable out put jack; yes, I know that's a deluxe feature, but I despise having to use two hands to pull the cable out when I'm through playing;; and the dot neck. On a neck this large, I would have preferred oval MOP inlays, but that probably would have just increased the cost. Finally, this bass does not come with a case, and that large body size, and neck, won't fit just any case. With all that said, my final conclusion, is that this is the finest mass manufactured six string bass out there. Sure, you can find better, but you will pay a premium price for it.
