Along with a chosen few others, Guild`s Standard series sets the standards and norms for the rest of the industry to follow. This series has been updated for 2012 with two acoustic guitars, two acoustic-electric and one acoustic-electric bass. These novelties were introduced at the NAMM Show this January. B-54CE Standard is a cutaway jumbo shaped acoustic-electric bass with a body made of solid maple back and sides and solid spruce top. The back of this bass is arched for improved ergonomics and tone projection. It is available in natural color with gloss lacquer finish. The top is bound in ivoroid with triple circle ivoroid rosette. B-54 features no pickguards. In the electronics section, Guild went for Fishman Matrix Infinity setup of under-saddle pickup and preamp with volume and tone module. The neck is made of mahogany and features a dovetail joint at the 17th fret. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and features 20 frets with dot position inlays, 12" radius and 1-5/8" wide string nut. Other features include: 34" scale length, chrome plated hardware and Gotoh die-cast tuning machines. The MSRP for B-54CE Standard is set at $3,219.99.
