Gretsch Guitars G5440LS Review

G5440LS is one of seven new models for the 2012 edition of Electromatic Collection made by Gretsch Guitars. Also, it is one of two bass guitars and the only one with 34" scale. All of these models. including G5440LS will be displayed at the summer NAMM 2012. G5440LS is a fully hollow bodied bass with single cutaway design. This bass is available in two color variants: Black and Orange. Both of them are finished in series standard gloss urethane finish. Chrome plating is featured on this model and tuning machines are enclosed Precision. Body back, sides and top are made of five plies of maple. Back and top are bound in white binding, while the to is equipped with a pair of "f" holes. There is no pickguard installed on this model. Bridge section features adjust-o-matic bridge with rosewood base in the front and trapezoid tailpiece with chrome plating in the back. Pickups installed on this bass are Filtertron humbuckers for bass guitar. Master volume, master tone, bridge volume and neck volume are accompanied by a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made of maple and it is topped with a rosewood-made fingerboard. 22 medium jumbo frets, humpblock inlays and 1.60" wide string nut complete the fingerboard specs.
