Young and popular Midtown series, despite it`s recent introduction into the catalog, looks and feels like a veteran warrior in Gibson ranks. Vintage-styled and well-made, Midtown series breathes with 1950s and 1960s vibe and has that "it must have been the main thing in the town back in the day" aura around it. 2014 marks 120 years of Gibson and gives the perfect opportunity for the general catalog overhaul and the Midtown series was included, as well. The only novelty is the 2014 Midtown Signature Bass. It is a semi-hollow double-cut with four-string construction, familiar vintage styling and active electronics. Back and sides of the body are made of mahogany, while the carved top is made of maple. Pelham Blue, Bullion Gold and Graphite Pearl color schemes are all finished in gloss, all have the distinct white binding around the top and chrome-plated hardware. Vintage-styled 3-point adjusted bridge and a pair of T-Bird pickups are installed on the top. Pickups are controlled with a master volume knob, master tone knob and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Mahogany neck has the standard Midtown series contour in the back and a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. The MSRP for this model is set at $1,852.
