EB Bass is among the most popular bass series in the world. It is beloved by both the amateurs and pros for it`s simplicity, straightforward approach and amazing tone. EB models have thus far appeared on countless records of both famous and anonymous bands and together with other popular basses (Precision, Thunderbird, Jazz, etc) have defined contemporary music and molded it into what we today know and like. For 2014, two models have been introduced and 2014 EB Bass 5-String is one of them. It comes with a solid and double-cut body made of swamp ash (same as it`s four-stringed sibling). In combination with the set in maple neck, it gives a well balanced, strong and very consistent tone. On it`s top, there`s the traditional EB series pickguard, a five-saddled hardtail bridge with top-load construction and a pair of big humbuckers with open pole pieces. Two volume knobs have push/pull switches and act as the pickup switch. Master tone knob completes the controls. Maple neck is smooth, fast and comfortably rounded. On it`s top, there`s a 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Gibson still remains on the traditional side with the bass construction, allowing their models only 20 frets (22 on very rare models), despite of 24-fret basses being a standard feature in many other catalogs. The MSRP for this magnificent five-stringer is set at $1,199.
