Retrospect is a line of vintage styled basses from Fernandes. They follow in the footsteps of Fender`s iconic Jazz Bass. For years, there were only X class models with four and five strings, but for 2012 Retrospect line got the reinforcements in shape of Deluxe JP class models. Retrospect 5 Deluxe JP is a solid, double cutaway bass with a body made of ash. It is available in three color options, black, snow white and three-color sunburst. The top of this five-stringer features no binding, but the vintage-style plastic pickguard is kept around. The bridge option is a chrome plated five-saddle bridge. This vintage style Gotoh bridge has a top-load construction. Pickup combo comes from EMG and two J-style pickups are placed, one at bridge and one at middle position. They are controlled through master volume, master toe, blend and mid boost/cut. The neck is made of maple and attached to the body via the bolt-on joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and equipped with 22 jumbo sized frets and dot position inlays. 34" scale, Graphtech string nut and die-cast Gotoh tuners complete the specs roster for Retrospect 5 Deluxe JP.
