Vintage Hot Rod series is a line of vintage-styled basses and guitars with modified electronics. These models feature period correct design appointments and hot rodded pickups. Some models even have more pickups than usual (example of that is 60s Telecaster with three single coil pickups). For the fall of 2013, Fender has expanded the series with six new models, four six-string guitars and two four-string basses. Vintage Hot Rod `60s Precision Bass is one of them. It comes with a solid and double-cut Precision body made of ash. It is flat on top and contoured in the back for better ergonomics. On the top of the body, Fender installs the vintage plastic pickguard and the classic hardtail bridge with four saddles and chrome plating. Two pickups are featured in the front, one jazz pickup in the bridge position and one P pickup in the middle. Standard set of control knobs is featured with them. Bolted maple neck is equipped with C contour in the back and the standard 20-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. Fender offers this fantastic four-stringed bass in two color options, Natural with gloss finish and Black, also finished in gloss.
