2015 brings a new, exotic flavor on the bass side of the Deluxe series. At this year`s NAMM, Fender has introduced three models into this great series, two Jazz models and one Precision. These fantastic four and five-stringers bring great tone, fantastic versatility and killer looks. The spotlight features of all three models are the special dual coil pickups and okoume bodies. deluxe Active Precision Bass Special Okoume features both and is the only Precision among the Deluxe series trio of updates. Body of this active four-stringer rocks the classic Precision contour and is made of okoume. It is flat on top, stripped down and connected to the maple neck via the classic bolt-on joint. The only color scheme available for these new Deluxe models is natural with glossy finish (polyester gloss finish is featured on the bodies of all three models). High Mass bridge on the top features chrome-plated zinc saddles and top-load construction. Dual-Coil Ceramic Noiseless™ Jazz Bass pickup with nickel-plated pole pieces is installed in the bridge, with Vintage-Style Alnico Split Single Coil Precision Bass pickup (vintage-style P pickup) in the middle position. Series standard controls unit comes with a master volume, pickup pan knob and three-band equalizer (bass boost/cut, mid boost/cut and treble boost/cut). Maple neck on this model is fit with a modern C profile in the back and series standard 20-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. List of major specs ends with a set of standard open-gear tuning machines installed on the regular headstock.
