Dingwell, a small Canadian manufacturer is focused on high-end guitars and basses. Their guitar lines consist of a few models, while on the other side, bass department features several series. Dingwell basses are famous for their fan-fretted fingerboards and intricate designs. The company is small with only four permanent luthiers and two part-time assistants, but their reputation goes well beyond the Canadian borders. For 2012 they have prepared a brand new Super P series to pay homage to the legendary P bass. This line was introduced at Dingwall exhibition booth at 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse. Super P 5 comes with a solid, double cutaway body with strategically distributed weight. The top of the body is flat and features no bindings or top wood veneers. The plastic pickguard is there and it resembles the one on the original Precision. The bridge is designed by Dingwall and made by Hipshot. It comes with chrome plating. In the pickup department there is only one P-styled pickup in the middle position. It is controlled through master volume and tone knobs. The multi-laminated neck is equipped with fast contour and topped with a maple fingerboard. 22 fanned Novax frets, black dot inlays and vintage styled tuners complete the specs list for Super P 5.
