Pilot series in DeArmond catalog is fit with four solid-bodied four-stringers with standard 34" scales, bolted necks, 22-fret fingerboards and Jazz Bass-like contours. The opening model of the Pilot range is the Pilot Special model. It comes with a solid, double-cut body made of agathis in it`s entirety. Polar Whit, Black and Crimson Red Transparent color options are featured in the palette DeArmond assigns to this affordable four-stringer. All color options are fit with black hardware and glossy finish. On the top of the body, there is the series standard J/P comb of pickups (Jazz pickup is in the bridge and P pickup i the middle position). Neck is made of maple and it is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
