Hawaiian koa is one of the most exclusive tone woods in the industry, as it is very limited in terms of availability and has magnificent tonal properties. Thus, koa is reserved for only the top models and series, and even then is rarely used for entire body construction. Taylor`s Koa series features nine models, of which, all nine are fully acoustic. GS-K is a grand symphony model with non-cutaway design and gloss finish over the natural color. Back and side panels are made of koa, while the top panel is made of spruce. Regular ebony-made bridge is installed on this model. Neck is made of mahogany and it is topped with an ebony fingerboard. This fingerboard is equipped with 20 frets, dot position inlays, 15" radius and 1.75" wide TUSQ nut.
