OM-45 Deluxe Authentic 1930 is, quite possibly, the most expensive and the most exclusive guitar ever built by C. F. Martin & Co. With the price tag set at unbelievable $99,999.00 and the series limit at 11 copies, this seductive OM has a secured place among the steel-string royalty. In order to achieve complete historical accuracy, C. F. Martin had to resort to the cutting edge technology and past century tonewoods. Solid Brazilian rosewood back and sides are made of pieces which predate the CITES treaty (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora was signed back in 1973, during the cold war heyday), while the new and young Adirondack spruce tops were subjugated to the revolutionary VTS process. VTS is a process of wood aging in which the wood is thermally treated in order to extract its natural moisture and achieve the cellular rigidity of an old, dried piece of wood. The possibilities are immense, allowing the C. F. Martin to target the certain eras and periods with surgical precision. The end result in this particular case is a brand new guitar which sounds like it was made in 1930 and was never played for 85 years. Grained ivoroid binding, teardrop pickguard, multiple rosette and a solid ebony bridge are found on the solid Adirondack spruce top. Genuine mahogany neck is fit with a period correct profile in the back (14th fret dovetail joint is also there) and a bound ebony fingerboard on the top. Vintage inlays, 1-3/4" bone nut and the vintage gold-plated machine heads complete the specs list of this ground breaking steel-stringer.
