DRS1 is a model from the Road series made by Martin Guitars. This one comes with a non-cutaway dreadnought body with non-cutaway construction. It comes with a body made of solid sapele on the back and side panels and solid spruce sound board on top. With sapele on the back and sides, this model is competing in budget-friendly category, even though it has all-solid body. However, this one can not be named an all-solid guitar, for the neck is laminated. Stratabond material which Martin uses as the replacement for hardwood is, actually a laminate. Several pieces of birch are glued together and then carved into the shape. On top of this stratabond neck Martin installs a 20-fret fingerboard made of black richlite. Bridge is also made of black richlite.
