D-28 John Prine is one of several currently active Custom Signature Editions models. Its production run is limited to 70 instruments, after which it will cease permanently. Top class tonewoods and hardware are used on each of the 70 hand-made John Prine guitars. D-28 John Prine costs $6,999.00 and is a faithful recreation of Mr. Prine`s own 1960`s D-28 Martin. It offers a non-cutaway dreadnought body, standard X bracing, all-solid construction, standard 25.4" scale, and premium hardware. Electronics are, though of an unspecified brand, available as an option. Key components include Madagascar rosewood back & sides, Adirondack spruce top, genuine mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard. Other notable features include a fixed ebony bridge (w/compensated bone saddle) and chrome-plated tuners.
