The original review posted on Chorder has some inaccurate information about the Martin 000-42. It is not, of course, a Jumbo but a short scale 000. The scale is 24.9" and not 25". The body is identical to an Orchestra Model, but it is short scale instead of the OM's long scale neck. The reviewer gives the Martin a 2 1/2 stars for quality. I find this hard to believe! My Martin 000-42 is perfect in it's construction. The woods, like on all of Martin's 40 series guitars, is the best I have seen on any guitar at any price. The finish is flawless. Most importantly, it is the most versatile guitar in terms of range, tenor and sustain than any guitar I've ever owned or heard. I also own an HD-28V, and the 000-42 is almost as loud as this dreadnought. Whether you are a flat picker, finger picker or strummer, this guitar is perhaps one of the top choices available on this planet. One last minor point . . . it is absolutely stunning with the abalone, neck inlays, and fancy headplate.
