Luna unveiled a multitude of new models for 2012 and four of them belong to the Gypsy series. Among those four models is also a Gipsy Quilted Ash Blue model. Gypsy is a series dedicated to the production of entry level models with playability and quality similar to their upscale siblings. Thus far, this series does hell of a job with bringing beginners a quality instrument to play on. For starters, Gypsy Quilted Ash Blue is a grand auditorium cutaway model with a body made of mahogany back and sides and spruce top. This flat-top model features a quilted ash graphic painted across the soundboard. It is painted in blue and finished in gloss. The rest of the body is lacquered in natural color. There are no bindings or pickguards featured on this model. The bridge follows the line of modern shaped Luna bridges from the upscale series and has black string pins and white saddle. This six-stringer is fully acoustic and features no pickups, mics or preamps on, or within the body. The fingerboard is equipped with a standard set of 20 frets, moon phase inlays and 1-11/16" wide string nut. 25-1/2" scale and chrome plated hardware complete the list of specs for Gypsy Quilted Ash Blue.
