This brand new parlor guitar Gretsch dedicates to the famous Jim Dandy of Black Oak Arkansas. His signature parlor is a vintage-styled guitar with a small, non-cutaway body and a big, big tone. Also, Gretsch and Jim have equipped this gorgeous little six-stringer with vintage styling and hardware. Body of this magnificent parlor is entirely made of agathis, this includes back panel, sides and the flat top. Agathis is a low-cost substitute tonewood used mostly as a replacement for mahogany on the beginner and low intermediate guitars. But, if processed properly, it can really shine and give a nice, big, warm tone, similar to genuine mahogany. Top of G9520-BRB is bound in the aged binding and covered with a single-ply plastic pickguard with Gretsch logo on it. Fixed rosewood bridge rocks the compensated string saddle, as well as a classic contour. There are no electronics on this model. Nato is another low-cost replacement for mahogany, most frequently used on the necks of budget-friendly acoustics and electrics. It has all the tonal characteristics of the genuine mahogany, but costs a fraction of it`s price. C-shaped neck on this particular model is attached to the body at the 12th fret and has glossy finish in the back. On it`s top, Gretsch installs a vintage-styled 18-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Over-sized pearloid dot inlays, 1-11/16 string nut and vintage-sized frets complete the fingerboard. Gretsch wraps up the specs list with a set of open-coiled tuning machines.
