A1M is a part of Yamaha`s A series, which has the goal of conquering the American market of affordable acoustic-electric guitars. Their strongest rival in this field is Martin`s Performing Artist series. A1M comes with a single cutaway dreadnought shaped body. It is made of mahogany back and sides with a spruce top. Natural binding and the tortoise pickguard decorate the top. Also, there is a double circle rosette around the sound hole. Ebony is the material of choice for the bridge on A1M. Modern shape and plastic string saddle characterize this bridge. System 66 Analog system made of preamp and under-saddle pickup is installed on this model. Neck is made of mahogany and covered with an ebony pickguard. 20 frets, dot position inlays and 1.69" wide synthetic bone nut wrap the fingerboard specs.
