WCSD30S is a new 2015 model introduced by Washburn into the intermediate Woodcraft line. This series is oriented towards the simplicity and great tone. Simplicity in design and construction is one of the hallmarks of the Woodcraft range - simple, natural looks with minimal use of paint and finishing, as well as simple, straightforward construction solutions. Te basic model is the WCSD30S, an affordable non-cutaway dreadnought guitar with a completely acoustic construction. Lack of pickups and preamps guarantees that the tone will project and reverberate without any obstacles, and that the tonal potential of the sound box is used to its maximum. Zebra wood back and sides are combined with a solid Sitka spruce sound board on top. Quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka spruce bracing is featured beneath the top (a proven and tested combination of features for that beloved Washburn tone), while on the top WCSD30S features a custom wooden inlay rosette and a pickguard. Mahogany neck on this, as well as other Woodcraft series models, is fit with a two-way truss rod and the classic 14th fret dovetail joint. The most unusual feature of this particular dread is its maple fingerboard (rosewood, ebony, and even synthetic materials are more frequent than maple) with 20 frets, dot inlays and 1.69" wide bone nut. Set of die-cast tuning machines graces the bound headstock.
