Taylor traditionally launches new limited edition series every fall and every spring. Each of the limited ranges is only available during the season it`s introduced in, and contains small quantities of each featured model. For the fall of 2014, Taylor has introduced eleven models in four series, with 700 series claiming three models. 714ce-FLTD is one of them. This exclusive six-stringer rocks Taylor`s original grand auditorium body contour with a soft Venetian cutaway and Taylor`s own electronics. Back and sides of this steel-stringer are made of sassafras, while the top is made of sitka spruce. These tonewoods, when combined with the progressive bracing taken from the regular 800 series, gives a superbly strong and defined tone suitable for both finger-picking and strumming. Ebony bridge on the top is a standard feature across the catalog (it is loaded with the second generation of Taylor`s Expression piezo pickup and a micarta saddle). Subtle, yet very elegant rosette and Indian rosewood binding embellish the top. Tropical mahogany neck is attached through a dovetail joint at the standard 14th fret and rocks the regular 20-fret ebony fingerboard on the top. The MSRP is set at $4,178.
