Taylor`s 500 series deals with intermediate acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. When compared to the rest of the market, 500 series models are pretty much upscale guitars, as they come with all-solid construction, Taylor hardware and electronics and ebony bridges and fingerboards. Five of the most popular body types comprise the 500 series lineup: dreadnought, grand concert, grand auditorium, grand orchestra and grand symphony. For the summer of 2013, Taylor expands this series with five all-mahogany models made of solid wood and top notch Taylor hardware. All five are fully acoustic and have non-cutaway construction. Body types used are again dreadnought, grand concert, grand auditorium, grand symphony and grand orchestra. Taylor`s series are famous for the uniformity of the basic specs and new 500 series lineup is no different. This grand auditorium six-stringer is made entirely of mahogany. Only the bridge and fingerboard are made of ebony. Ivoroid binding is used around the body, around the fingerboard and around the sound hole. Black pickguard is used on the top. Both the bridge saddle and fingerboard nut (1.75" wide) are made of TUSQ. Fingerboard is fit with a standard set of 20 frets with Century inlays. 25-1/2" scale, chrome-plated Taylor tuners and combined gloss and satin finish complete the specs list.
