500 Series Acoustic-Electric Guitars by Taylor

Taylor`s 500 series belongs to the intermediate group of series, along with 400 and 600 lines. It covers pretty much the entire lineup of the standard body shapes, including dreadnought, grand concert, grand auditorium, grand orchestra and grand symphony. Jumbo has been omitted from this acoustic-electric series. Usually, when made with electronics, Taylor`s models feature single-cut design and receive the "ce" tag next to their name. Thus the acoustic-electric grand concert model from the 500 series, which is equipped with Taylor Expression electronics and single cutaway, will be named 512ce. 500 series has been expanded for the summer of 2013 with a set of five fully acoustic guitars and the non-cutaway grand concert is named 522. It is made of mahogany back, sides and top. Taylor installs ebony-made belly bridge on it`s top and fits it with a TUSQ saddle. Top of the body, fingerboard and headstock are bound in ivoroid binding. Black pickguard and a single-circle ivoroid rosette decorate the top. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and it features the series standard contour in the back. On it`s top, there`s a standard 20-fret ebony fingerboard. 24-7/8" scale, 1-3/4" tusq nut, chrome-plated Taylor tuners and combination of gloss and satin finish complete the specs list.
