400 series of acoustic-electric guitars from Taylor is probably brand`s most popular series which had various incarnations in Limited Editions, as well. 414ce is a grand auditorium model with cutaway and electronics. It`s body is made of ovangkol and the top is made of spruce. Except for special models and some limiteds, guitars in Taylor catalog are topped with spruce sound boards. This sound board is bound in white and it features a tortoise shell pickguard. In the bridge section Taylor installs a standard feature, an ebony bridge with standard shape. Electronics are also regular, Expression pickup/preamp system for steel-stringed guitars. Neck is made of tropical mahogany, and it is topped with an ebony fingerboard. 20 frets are covered with dot position inlays. Taylor tuners and 25-1/2" scale complete the specs list.

The thing I love about this guitar is the overall quality of sound that it produces. Both unpluged and pluged into an accoustic amp. I played this guitar several times at Guitar Center. I have compared it to alot of other guitars from both sides of its price range. After I plugged it into the amp was when I was sold. By just tweaking the controls on an accoustic amp just a bit. This guitars overall tone and resonence stands out. I am definately buying one come payday>
