Hawaiian koa is an exclusive tonewood with exquisite characteristics and very limited scope of application, mostly due to it`s price and scarcity. Koa gives a rich tone: a nice mix of mahogany and maple traits), superb projection and to top it all off, looks amazing. Therefore, guitars with entire bodies made of solid koa are both rare and very desirable among the players who seek the ultimate acoustic guitar. But, sometimes, despite the mind blowing tonal characteristics, koa costs a lot less. This can happen if the particular piece has a darker shade and lacks the sheen of the high end koa piece. 300 series in Fall 2014 Limiteds range features the darker and more affordable koa. These limited 300s cost somewhat in excess of $2,000 and have all the sonic benefits of a five figure koa guitar. 326ce-K FLTD comes with a single-cut GS body, set in mahogany neck and Taylor`s own Expression electronics. Electronics department is made up of a concealed piezo pickup and a side-mounted preamp with basic controls. Mahogany neck is fit with a standard 20-fret fingerboard made of ebony (also a standard Taylor feature). Taylor tuners are installed on the headstock in the traditional 3+3 arrangement.
