For 2012 Taylor Guitars come with a brand new range of Limited Edition models. Four series are being introduced and the largest one with six models in it is the Hawaiian Koa 300 series. Out of these six acoustic-electrics four have steel strings and two are nylon-stringers. 316ce-LTD comes with a grand symphony cutaway shape. It`s back and sides are made of Hawaiian koa with a spruce-made sound board. Both the top and back are bound in black. Top is further adorned with a triple circle rosette and a tortoise shell pickguard. 316ce-LTD comes in natural color with a mix of satin and gloss finish. The bridge on this model is a series-wide standard feature with appointments such as ebony string pins and belly shape. The electronics department is occupied by Taylor Expression System with a side mounted control panel. The system consists of Taylor`s own pickup and preamp. The neck is made of tropical mahogany and it is attached to the body with a dovetail joint. On the other side the headstock is attached to the body with a scarf joint. Ebony fingerboard comes with 20 frets, dot position inlays, 15" radius and 1.75" wide TUSQ nut. The MSRP for this model is set at $2,898.
