P7DC is a model from the newly introduced Pro Series 7 line of exclusive acoustic-electric guitars made by Takamine. This series contains four guitars with exclusive tonewoods and premier hardware appointments. P7DC is the single-cut variant of the series basic P7D guitar. Other than cutaway, these two are completely identical. Also, the non-cutaway variant costs $3,899, while the single-cut P& dread costs fifty bucks more, $3,949 to be exact. Body of this exclusive single-cut dread is made of solid rosewood back and sides and solid spruce sound board on top. The same combo is used on the P7D model. Sound board is bound in maple binding with dark wood purfling and sports the tortoise shell pickguard on top. Sound hole is adorned with a discrete double-circle rosette. Bridge section is equipped with a standard belly-contoured rosewood bridge. Underneath it`s bone saddle, Takamine installs the Palathetic pickup. It is paired with a side-mounted CTP-2 Cool Tube Preamp with an elaborate controls unit. Neck is equipped with an asymmetrical back contour (it`s a bit thinner on the bass side and fatter on the treble side), gloss finish and dovetail joint. 20-fret fingerboard has snow flake inlays, bone nut and is made of ebony.
