P1JC is a model from the newly established Pro Series 1 line of acoustic-electric guitars made by Takamine. Takamine is Japan`s strongest acoustic guitar manufacturer and their catalog is split into Pro and G lines. Even though the Pro Series 1 belongs to the Pro section of the catalog, it`s guitars are not as expensive as one might think. P1JC comes with all of the series` common traits, but it sports it`s own jumbo body contour. This juggernaut has scalloped X bracing. Sapele back and sides are paired with series` standard cedar sound board. Multi-ply binding, black plastic pickguard and triple circle rosette decorate the top. Top is also the only part of the body finished in gloss, while the rest is finished in satin. Bridge section comes with a regular belly-shaped bridge made of rosewood. It`s equipped with a two-piece bone saddle and black string pins. Electronics is one of the fields Takamine excels at and Pro Series 1 proves it. Palathetic pickup is combined with CT4B II preamp to create the electronics section for the entire Pro Series 1 line. African mahogany is used for the neck, which is covered with a rosewood fingerboard. 20 frets with dot position markers and bone string nut are featured on the fingerboard. Hardware is plated in chrome.
