531SC is the basic variant of the 531DLX with less embellishments and lower price tag. But, other than that, these two are pretty much the same. The SC also comes with Takamine`s signature quality of build and tone. This dreadnought is a single-cut steel-stringer with acoustic-electric construction. Amplification is entrusted to the TK40 preamp, which is installed on the shoulder of the body. Sapele is a wood of African origin and is sometimes mistaken for African mahogany. This time it is used for the back and side panels of the body and it`s paired with spruce sound board on top. Creme binding, black pickguard and single circle rosette decorate the top. Bridge on this one is made of rosewood, as is the 20-fret fingerboard.
